These alleged drug dealers broke the first rule of a life of crime – Never fall in love.

Police took down some drug queenpins in the cutest way possible recently in Peru. In a stunt straight out of Law & Order: Special Mascots Unit, an officer, dressed as an oversized teddy bear, held up balloons, chocolates, and other cliches outside a suspected drug dealer’s residence. In case that wasn’t romantic enough to lure her outside, another lovable decoy danced sensually and waved a heart-covered sign saying: “You are my reason to smile.”

The officers’ grand romantic gesture was truly something out of a fairy tale, or perhaps a true crime podcast.

“While most women these days are worried about being catfished, these Queenpins should’ve been concerned with being bear-hugged.”

These bad girl bachelorettes were unable to resist the promise of romance, a weakness the police knew all too well. Proving that love is the most powerful drug of all, one of the eager women rushed outside to greet her furry Romeo, only to be swiftly pinned to the ground by the cuddly character.

Onlookers noted it was an impressive feat, considering the bear had no opposable thumbs and was armed with only a t-shirt gun.

“At first when the bear threw me down and handcuffed me I thought, ‘Yes, please.’ The smitten suspect stated, “Then I saw the K-9 unit.”

No third wheeling here, the woman’s stunned accomplice had a candygram with her name on it as well. She was adorably apprehended inside, where it’s reported police seized hundreds of packages of cocaine paste and absolutely zero Valentines.

Hugs, Not Drugs (Associated Press/YouTube)

It’s not the first time Peruvian Police have weaponized cuteness. Back in December, officers ingeniously disguised as Santa and his elves carried out another drug bust in the capital city. “Ho Ho Hope you like jail, b*tch,” Santa chuckled, as he tased a drug dealer within an inch of his life before a crowd of traumatized kindergarteners.

Kudos to these creative cops for realizing even criminals have a soft side. I think it’s safe to say we all know people who would kill (or smuggle drugs) for a balloon and a bear hug.
