Two 18-year-olds bonded out of the Marion County Jail this weekend after Ocala police interrupted what authorities described as a content strategy, and what the rest of Florida recognized as a usual Saturday.

Janek Szkaradek and Luke Charske were arrested after Szkaradek piloted a zero-turn lawnmower into the Target on Southwest College Road. The incident involved Szkaradek operating a zero-turn lawnmower in a manner inconsistent with both its intended use and the structural assumptions of the building’s automatic doors. The doors, manufactured to detect approaching foot traffic, were not engineered for what officers described as “an entire piece of yard equipment moving at speed.”
Once inside, Szkaradek drove approximately 20 feet past the Starbucks, executed a 180-degree loop near a population of unsuspecting customers, and exited. Witness Kayla Sanford described the operation as “a very big loud noise” performed by someone “struggling to like control it,” which is also how an Ocala officer would likely later describe the entire arc of his life.
The Target appearance was, by the teens’ own documentation, the second stop on what investigators are now calling a “spree”. The night before the lawnmower incident, Szkaradek entered a Culver’s on the same road carrying a leaf blower, walked to the counter, and discharged it in the direction of registers, employees, and the kitchen. Two employees lost their hats. Between $50 and $100 worth of food was rendered inedible, which at Culver’s current prices is roughly four ButterBurgers.
According to the arrest report, a customer called police after his wife began having a panic attack. This detail does not appear in the TikTok edit.
Szkaradek now faces two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal mischief. Charske faces one count of disorderly conduct, charged as a principal. Principal is a legal designation that means “you held the camera,” and which the teens will spend the next several months learning is not the same as the kind of principal you ignore in high school.
