Kamila Grabska, 36, was involved in a nasty fender bender back in 2017 that allegedly left her with neck and back injuries so severe that she could barely lift a pint of Guinness, let alone hold down a job.
The mom-of-two received a hefty payday from the insurance company, but like a Hallmark movie gone horribly wrong, Grabska lost it all when she was busted throwing full-size Christmas Trees at the annual “Festive Fling” competition a mere year and a half after the accident.
This Christmas competitor broke rule number one of perpetrating an insurance fraud: Always keep a low profile. Grabska did the opposite. Not only did she participate in the event, but she put herself in the spotlight when she went on to win the whole competition. She also set a new “Festive Fling” record for the furthest thrown tree whilst pretending to have a dramatic neck injury. Impressive!

“She threw that Douglas Fir like it was a paper airplane,” said a witness who preferred to remain anonymous. “That girl’s a regular Paulette Bunyan!”
“I hear she was pumped up full of hot cocoa and pain meds the whole time,” argued a disgruntled competitor, “They should revoke her title and her settlement.”
The judge presiding over the Grabska’s case couldn’t agree more. After reviewing the “very graphic picture” of the tree tosser in all her Spruce-slinging glory, he swiftly threw out the lawsuit and the hundreds of thousands of insurance dollars that went along with it. The judge declared Grabska’s self-proclaimed injuries to be “entirely exaggerated.”
Grabska, for her part, categorically denied any wrongdoing. She claimed she was simply trying to live a normal life. Come on, who among us hasn’t participated in a tree-throwing competition?
Talk about throwing your money away. (New York Post/YouTube)
“I may have thrown a Christmas tree or two,” Grabska lamented, “but that doesn’t mean I’m not injured. I can’t even begin to tell you how painful it is for me to slide down a chimney.”
Grabska’s back pain is nothing compared to the pain of losing out on those disability checks. As she throws herself back into searching for a day job, she can’t help but reflect on why she entered the “Festive Fling” in the first place. She’s now considering suing Nike for encouraging her to “Just Do It.”
